Private Android browser · first released 2024-07-19
Overall
INCOG is designed as the browser of choice for those who prioritise personal privacy. At its strictest setting, Incog can clear your browsing session the instant the screen turns off or the browser loses focus — a mode we shipped before it was common in Android browsers.
Incog combines three things most mobile browsers treat as separate products: a relay built into the browser, passcode-locked Spaces for separate identities, and clear modes that decide when data disappears. There is no account, no sync service and no browsing profile.
Features:
built-in relay (Hide My IP) with remote DNS.
multi-space of user web sessions, each behind its own passcode.
special clear modes of browser.
one tap to destroy all data.
no web ads trackers.
faster and safer with gecko.
no logging.
speed up website visit .
We are still fast developing more features, including make device ram and speed undetectable and so on...
Should you encounter any problem or would love to see a new feature, do not hesitate to contact us. We are hard at work to improve and enhance the app. Please help us improve this app by giving feedback and rating the app. Thanks!
Feature Details
Hide My IP — a relay inside the browser
Incog does not hand your traffic to a third-party VPN. The relay client is part of the browser: switch Hide My IP on and Incog starts a local SOCKS5 listener, points GeckoView at it, and carries the browser's requests to a KSAVE relay. DNS is resolved at the relay rather than on the device, so your mobile provider sees a connection to the relay instead of a list of site names.
Five relay endpoints are published to the app at runtime, currently in the United States, Canada, Singapore and France. Because the tunnel is per-app, it covers Incog only: other apps keep using the normal connection, and the phone does not show a system-wide VPN. There is no account and no subscription — turning the switch on is the whole setup.
Session Space
Session Space is a new feature launching in Dec 2024, aimed at providing users with highly secure private browsing sessions. It allows users to effortlessly handle various situations using multiple different identities. Its features are as follows:
By using a passcode (please remember it carefully; forgetting it will result in complete loss of session history with no way to recover), users can create and open a Space. The tabs, browsing history, sessions, bookmarks, user settings, etc., within this Space all operate in an independent environment. After exiting the application, the Space's data is automatically saved. By entering the same passcode next time, you can return to this Space. Multiple Spaces can be created, each without interfering with the others. Only by deleting application data will a Space be completely erased.
Use cases:
1. A user opens a web version of Telegram and has another account; they can open two different Spaces and switch between them seamlessly.
2. After you've browsed some highly private web content and wish to continue next time, you can instantly create a new Space for it, remember the passcode, and open it when needed—all your records will be preserved. It's important to note that if you forget the passcode, that Space will be permanently inaccessible, and you'll need to create a new one.
3. When you have multiple Facebook identities or others, you can use multiple Spaces to manage them separately, ensuring they don't interfere with each other, and it's less likely to be detected compared to cloning apps.
Clear Mode
Clear Mode is a setting that performs a clearing action on the current session when the application undergoes certain operations. When in a Space, the clearing action results in exiting the Space and data changed would be saved in Space; when in the default Space (Just Open The Browser), it clears all browsing content (excluding bookmarks).
3 modes:
1. OutFocus Mode: Performs a clearing action when the application is minimized, or even just when the screen is turned off or the activity loses focus of the current screen. However, some situations are exempted, such as link sharing or when needing to invoke the system to select images.
2. Leave Mode: Performs a clearing action after the application has not been operated for a specific period—for example, when the app has been in the background beyond a certain time. The default is a 3-minute timeout, but we've developed additional time options for premium members.
3. Close Mode: The clearing action is executed only when the application is formally exited. Different versions of operating systems may behave differently; some systems force the application to quit when it is minimized, while others keep it running until the user closes it in the application management page. In any case, this is the mode with the longest session duration.
